The only first-floor room at Cider House Bed and Breakfast, our inviting two-room suite features a paneled sitting area with TV leading into a cozy bedroom with queen bed, and perfectly appointed modern bathroom beyond.

This suite is aptly named for the former mayor of Waynesboro, VA and leading cardiologist, Dr. Thomas Gorsuch, uncle to Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch, who lived in the house for many years and used this suite as his office. Longtime citizens of Waynesboro still identify this property, which was at that time a horse farm, as “the Old Gorsuch Place.”

The holly tree outside the bedroom window adds to the idyllic privacy of this intimate suite. Two (capped) fireplaces complement the historic character, with comfortable rugs on the original wide-board hardwood floors. Bedside tables feature lamps, charging stations, and the iHome clock radio.

After a day of exploring activities and attractions in Charlottesville and the Shenandoah Valley, spend a beautiful evening enjoying the sunset, then the fireflies, in the rocking chairs or glider on the front porch just outside your room.
