Cider House Bed and Breakfast does not offer any handicap accessible accommodations since the establishment is located within a facility that contains not more than five rooms for rent or hire and that is occupied by the proprietor of the establishment as the residence of the proprietor. (5 U.S.C. 301; 28 U.S.C. 509, 510; 42 U.S.C. 12186(b). § 36.104 Definitions). However, we are committed to doing whatever we reasonably can to make our historic property accessible, therefore we have added the following accessible features:
- Railings on all stairs
- Two grab bars in each shower
- Shower seat in the Gorsuch Suite
- Plenty of room around parking spaces, and we can reserve the appropriate space upon request
Other accessibility points to note: The path from the parking area to the front door is a gradual ascent with three spaced steps with no railings. There are five steps up to the front door, with a railing on both sides. If requested, there is an alternate back entrance with only two steps, and a single railing, and one first floor room, the Gorsuch Suite.
The queen beds in the Gorsuch and Holler Suites are antique and high, and have bed steps on either side. The king bed in the Coyner Room is modern, and of normal height.
