Home Away from Home in the Beautiful Shenandoah Valley
Relax in the tranquility of a Shenandoah Valley apple orchard farm, complete with alpacas, donkeys, cows, sheep, goats, and yaks. Enjoy a historic inn with antique furnishings, yet all the modern conveniences, including modern baths and central air conditioning. Take in the lovely sunrises over the Blue Ridge Mountains and the starry sky on clear nights. Walking the entire property is about a mile, and includes the neighbors’ horses and miniature highland cows.
Our Guest Rooms
Enjoy a historic house with beautiful antique furnishings, yet all the modern conveniences, including super-comfy beds with handmade quilts. We only offer four guest rooms, so every guest has an intimate, exclusive experience. All rooms have been updated with a luxurious, fully modern, en-suite bath with shower. Every window provides a tranquil, pastoral view.
Control your own temperature with ceiling fans and space heaters to complement central heat and air conditioning. Log-in and recharge with free Wi-Fi throughout the house and lots of plugs and USB chargers in the rooms. For those evenings you want to stay in, we have satellite HDTV in every room.

A breakfast worth waking up for
A full gourmet breakfast with two courses is served in the main dining room each morning featuring locally sourced meat, eggs, fruit, and produce, often from right here on the farm. We make our own jams, using the blackberries and raspberries we grow. Savor complimentary coffee, tea, and homemade pastries anytime in our comfortable common sitting area, or take them out to enjoy on the back patio.

Hard cider and mead made on premises, local wine and cheese baskets, fruit plates, and picnic lunches are available for purchase. A large deck with grill, table for six, and a fire pit is available for your use in an inviting secluded garden. Or there is a back patio off the dining room, with comfortable chairs facing the farm and two patio tables with umbrellas.

For a gentle hike, try the Blue Ridge Tunnel. Check out the shops and restaurants in Staunton. Or make a day trip to Charlottesville, visiting UVA, and Monticello. We have three excellent breweries in town, and many choices for wine, including Afton Mountain and Veritas, on the mountain above Waynesboro. Many guests stay here as the starting point for Nelson 151, a craft beverage trail on the other side of the Blue Ridge. Starting in Spring 2027, you can get your cider and a light meal here on the property at Stone Ledge Ciderhouse and Meadery.

- My brother and I were Melinda’s guests at the Cider House B&B this week for a couple nights as we did some hiking and took advantage of local natural and cultural activities available in this portion of Virginia. Melinda is a charming host and wealth of information on local activities. The Cider House B&B accommodations are absolutely top shelf, with incredible attention to detail in everything from white glove cleanliness to comfortable and homey appointments throughout the property. A bonus is that the Cider House maintains a fully operational farm and orchard – complete with a menagerie of farm animals who love treats! Our breakfasts were completely homemade, masterfully prepared, and absolutely delicious. As plans for the fall harvest fun and activities develop around cider making and the all-important cider donuts are shared, we’d love to make a visit again to Melinda and The Cider House B&B!

The owner was truly amazing—gracious, welcoming, and attentive, making sure every detail of our stay was perfect. Breakfast this morning was absolutely delicious, with thoughtful touches that made it feel like home. The room was spotless, with incredibly clean sheets and a cozy atmosphere that made it hard to leave! The bathroom was also impeccable—bright, fresh, and clearly maintained with great care. You can really tell that a lot of love and attention goes into this place. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and well-cared-for getaway. - My husband and I just spent a night here while doing some hiking and visiting a few breweries on the Beerwerks trail. Lovely rooms and home, delicious homemade breakfast, and very reasonably priced! We highly recommend the Coyner room on the 2nd floor with private covered porch! Was delightful to sit out on it and watch an impressive (thankfully short) thunderstorm! Melinda is a very cordial and welcoming host. Highly recommend!!
- We absolutely loved staying at the Cider House. What a charming house and a farm! We would 100% recommend this place. Melinda was also very hospitable and friendly. We stayed at the house for one night, were greeted by all the animals (sheep, donkeys, alpacas, cows, a cat and even the neighbor’s horse came to say hi) and also had the most delicious pancakes for breakfast. Thank you Melinda, we would love to come back!
- We spent 3 nights at this characterful B&B on the edge of Waynesboro VA, an excellent location for visiting the Blue Ridge Mountains. Melinda, the owner, was welcoming and very helpful. Our attractive accommodation comprised bedroom, shower room and sitting room with view over farmland. Breakfasts were good and varied from day to day. We particularly enjoyed the varied birdlife around us and the fireflies in the evening were an added bonus. I would happily choose the B&B if revisiting the area.
- We were pleasantly surprised at the cider house b&b. The decor was just beautiful. Melinda was great. She made 2 EXCELLENT breakfasts for us. Lots of information about the area. We had a balcony off our room that we sat and listened to all the beautiful birds. Great place if you are visiting the Shenandoah valley.
